Lt. Granberg receives Vietnam Gallantry Cross!

Lt. Granberg recieves the Cross with Bronze Star (while Jerry Granberg looks on!). The Cross was presented by Gen. Dong (on left), at FSB Oklahoma in the Fishhook region, Cambodia. A Btry. fired 4,500 rds of 8 inch and 1,700 rds. of 175 during the six weeks in Cambodia, June - July, 1970.

Mel Major, Now & Then!

Mel Major on the crew of No. 4 gun, March '68 through March '69... retired.. since 2005.. ten grandkids and fishing and hunting keep me real busy!

Major Ranc began military service in 1965 in the regular Army Artillery, after graduating college at Washington & Lee University. He landed in Nam in 1968 and was assigned command of A Btry. 2/32 located at French Fort. Captain Ranc commanded Alpha Battery from March, 1968 through August, 1968 when he moved on to other assignments at 25th Infantry Headquarters. He holds a Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He is retired and lives in Texas with his wife, four children and ten grand children.

Carl Miller, Now & Then!

With A Btry. Dec. 67 - Dec '68, Tri Bi, direct fire at Ch Chi, French Fort from March - December, then Ft. Carson, CO. Married to high school sweetheart, two kids and four wonderful grand-kids! Retired in 2004, loves fishing in Florida and Michigan!

"Nau & Then!"

Sp5 Terry Nau succeeded Bill Kimball as FDC Chief in Feb. 1968, during the Tet Offensive. Terry was with A Battery FDC from September, 1967 through August, 1968. He is a retired newspaper man in Rhode Island. Terry has edited stories on the Proud Americans website, and he managed the Military Page for the Pawtucket Times.

Don Babb Conferring with Cpt. Babb at French Fort!

Cpt. Babb commanded Battery A in August and September of 1968. He was hit by mortar fire and evacuated on 17 September 1968. Don is recipient of the Silver Star, a Bronze Star (Meritorious), a Purple Heart, and the Air Medal (Meritorious).

Roy Osborne Now & Then!

Roy transferred from 2/27th Wolfhounds to Service Btry. Roy hauled ammo to French Fort and other FSBs. Roy's truck hit a mine on the road to Katum, May, 1971. Roy holds a Purple Heart for wounds suffered that day! Roy also holds a Purple Heart won while in the infantry, two Bronze Stars (one with "V" device, one Meritorious), and an Army Commendation Medal (Meritorious)!

A Day Not Forgotten!

Roy was driving a 5 ton truckload of ammo bound for Katum, on 19 May 1971. He was on the road going around the mountain when he hit a mine. He got two weeks rest in the 93rd Evac Hospital for his efforts!

Harold Taylor, Now & Then!

Harold was in the Rat Patrol! He ran security for convoy resupply out of Tay Ninh up as far as FSB Lanyard & Pace, right through Ambush Alley. He was the point machine gunner! Harold helped deliver ammo to French Fort! Extremely hazardous duty.

Bob discussing the long gun with Sp4. Bob McLean at French Fort! Bob joined A Btry. in March, '67 and participated in Op. Junction City. He was with No. 1 gun section as RTO, and later as the XO's recorder/driver/gopher. Bob rotated back to The World, Mar. 1, 1968.
