I
am a son, a father, a lover,
a patriot, a warrior, a predator;
yes, and I am a victim, wounded
and in pain; always healing.
I am a tired little being.
I spend my life straining
against the door, holding back
the thing that I fear most:
|
Me, I am an animal;
a being without conscience,
driven by lust, rage and hunger;
driven by forgotten instincts,
primal and without expression.
I am the animal trapped
behind the door; the secret me.
I am man.
